This article will review the Template Variables available for MessageHub.
Variables are placeholder text in messages that are dynamically replaced based on the information you've provided.
This feature allows you to send personalized messages to the end user.
Requirements:
- An active ClickFunnels 2.0 account
- MessageHub
Important Note: Before you get started with MessageHub, you'll need to:
- Configure your Marketing Settings
- Buy or Configure a Custom Domain
- Add an Email Address on a Custom Domain and Set up DKIM

Template Variables
When you create a message with variables, MessageHub will translate it to the appropriate value.
For example, if you send the following message: Hey {{ contact.name }}, how may I help you?, then MessageHub will dynamically replace the variable {{ contact.name }} with the contact name: Hey John, how may I help you?.
To use a variable in your conversation, you need to type two double curly brackets {{ the variables will appear, and you can select the one you'd like to use. Example:
Important Note: Template Variables are supported in canned responses, macros, and automations.
Existing Template Variables
The current template variables are the following:
Variable | Description |
conversation.id | The numeric version of the conversation ID |
contact.id | The numeric version of the contact ID |
contact.name | Contact full name |
contact.first_name | Contact first name |
contact.last_name | Contact last name |
contact.phone_number | Contact phone number |
agent.name | Agent full name |
agent.first_name | Agent first name |
agent.last_name | Agent last name |
agent.phone_number | Agent phone number |
Important Note: If you try to send a variable that doesn’t exist, you will receive the following warning message from MessageHub.
