Why Is it Good To Test Emails Before Sending Them?

Testing your emails before sending them is crucial for error identification, ensuring optimal rendering across devices, email clients, screen resolutions, etc.

A great example is testing how your images will look to an email address hosted in Google. Will it go to the Marketing folder in their Gmail inboxes? Or how it will look in Hotmail or a corporative email address. Will the links work correctly? Different email clients and devices have varying capabilities and limitations when rendering HTML and CSS, making emails look different when viewed on other platforms. For example, an email that looks perfect on a desktop computer might appear distorted on a mobile device or using a different app or ESP.

A well-tested email design helps deliver a seamless user experience to all recipients, regardless of how they access their emails.

Here are a few things you need to consider while testing your emails:

  • See how the format, images, and other elements look on different devices.
  • Proofread your email to look for grammatical errors and brand consistency.
  • Look for potential spam triggers and remove them.
  • Make sure your dynamic content renders correctly. For example, a “NAME” placeholder actually displays the receiver's name.
  • Make sure your CTAs (buttons and linked text) are working correctly.

How To Test ClickFunnels’ Broadcast

An easy way to test your outgoing emails with ClickFunnels Broadcast is by sending that campaign to a “safe list” first. Use your own email addresses, both personal and professional, or your team’s emails. You could also create special email addresses for testing or send it to friends and family with their consent to help you test it first.

It’s always important to keep an email “safe list” to test all your campaigns before going into a more extensive list. If you have any inconvenience with your email, you can fix it before it reaches your audience. Broken links or non-functional CTAs can frustrate recipients and decrease the effectiveness of your email campaign.

With ClickFunnels 2.0, we use a new feature called Segments to filter different contacts, and this is how you can create different “email lists” or segment your audience:
