[Archived] - Element Settings: Checkout Steps (Smart Checkout)

This article will review the Checkout Steps from the Smart Checkout. This feature allows you to determine your Checkout element's layout and quickly visualize it in real time based on your customer perspective. The Checkout Steps component is a great visual feature while editing your Checkout element.

Important Note: You must add at least one Product to the Funnel Step to visualize the Smart Checkout element correctly.

Requirements:

  • An active ClickFunnels 2.0 account
  • A Funnel Page
  • A Smart Checkout element

Step Buttons:

The Steps buttons allow you to determine whether you need one, two, or three steps for your Checkout element. 

1 Step. All the information will be displayed in one step, using one column with all the information from top to bottom and one unique Submit button for the whole element.

2 Step. The 2-step option will divide your Checkout information into two main sections. The first is for Shipping and Personal Information, and the second is for Product Selection, Delivery Options, Payment information, Order Bumps, and Order Summary.

3 Step. The 3-step option will divide your Checkout information into three main sections. The first section will include Product information and Selection; the second section will be about Personal and Shipping information; and the third will be for selecting Delivery options, Payment information, Order Bumps, and Summary.

Preview:

Preview drop-down menuIt will allow you to visualize the steps selected from different customer perspectives. It can also display the different versions of your Smart Checkout element based on the role your Checkout element plays in your funnel. 

 

For example, if you use this Smart Checkout element for your main offer, your new customers will see the “step1 (guest)” marked with a green border in the image below. In contrast, your recurring customers, with their email saved, will see it as displayed under “saved,” marked with a red border in the image below.
