Editor : Adding a Blog Post Author Element

Created by Faye BSG, Modified on Thu, 30 Nov 2023 at 09:53 AM by Education Team

When creating a blog post, you may wish to add an Author Element. This element tells viewers of the post who authored it, and can allow them to associate it with other posts by the same author. The Author Element will auto-fill from the author field in the blog post settings, but you can add this element before filling in this field.

Prior to getting started, you will need to have the following:

Step by Step Walk Through:

  1. From your blog dashboard, you can access the blog post editor by clicking on the title of the blog post that you wish to edit.

  2. On the editor page, select Add Element, either in an empty row, or below an existing element on the page.

  3. On the right-hand side of the screen, scroll down until you see the Blog Post Authors element under the Blog: Posts heading. Click on this element to select it.

  4. The element will appear where you selected Add Element in your blog post. You may now drag and drop it as you would any element to adjust its position on the page. The element will auto-populate from the Author field in your Blog Post Settings on the live and preview versions of the page.

  5. Congratulations! You have now successfully added an Author Element to your blog post. Visitors to your page will see the authors in your Blog Post setting listed here.
