Getting a New Domain

One of the best ways to customize your site is by using a custom domain. If you don’t have a domain, you can buy one from your ClickFunnels account. The domain will automatically be configured to use ClickFunnels, but it will be registered and managed in IONOS. ClickFunnels will only act as a bridge between you and IONOS when buying a domain. This means all other edits to your domain’s settings must be done from your IONOS account.

If you want to buy a new domain, please follow this guide: How to Buy a New Domain

Connecting an Existing Domain

If you already have an existing domain, you can connect it to your ClickFunnels account and use it for your site and funnels. There are two ways to accomplish this: The automated setup or the manual setup process.

The automated setup uses a process that will automatically add the necessary records to your domain registrar, making the process much easier. Automated setup supports several domain registrars. You can check if your domain registrar is supported here. If you want to add an existing domain using the automated setup, check this guide: How to Connect an Existing Domain (Automated Setup)

If the automated setup does not support your domain registrar, you should add your domain using the manual setup process. This process requires you to add some DNS records to your domain registrar to connect it with your ClickFunnels Workspace. If you want to add an existing domain using the manual setup process, follow this guide: How to Connect an Existing Domain (Manual Setup)

Troubleshooting

  • A domain registrar or DNS provider does not support TXT records longer than 255 characters.
    • ClickFunnels uses a 2048-bit DKIM TXT record, which is longer than some domain registrars will support. In this case, please use a different DNS provider, such as Cloudflare, to manage your domain’s DNS records. Please see Cloudflare’s documentation for more details.
