How to Get a Free Domain in ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels offers an exciting partnership with IONOS, allowing users to add a free domain with a special promotion. This article will guide you through the process of claiming your domain and explain how the discount works.

Requirements

• An active ClickFunnels account

Important:

• The term “free domain” refers to a $12 discount applied to your domain purchase through IONOS. If the domain price exceeds $12, you will be responsible for paying the difference.

• The free domain promotion is available on an account basis, not per workspace. If a team member claims the free domain offer in one workspace, the promotion is considered redeemed for the entire account. It cannot be claimed again in another workspace under the same account.

Warning:

• We currently do not support Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). Special characters are letters that are not in the English alphabet. Some examples of special characters are æ, ø, å, ö, ä, ü and é.

• Domain names with trademarked phrases cannot be added or used in ClickFunnels. Click here to view restricted phrase list.

How to Get a Free Domain

1. From the left sidebar menu, click Workspace Settings and then select Domains.

   

2. Click the ‘Get a free domain!’ button on the Domains page.

3. In the open prompt, type the domain name you wish to register into the text field and click the “Check” button to check availability in IONOS.

4. IONOS will indicate the domain's availability and present related domains that you may consider adding.

5. Click ‘Add to basket’ to add the domain to the cart and click Continue.

6. The domain will be automatically added to the IONOS checkout. Review your domain information, such as the domain name and billing period, and click the Continue button at the bottom of the checkout.

7. On the IONOS cart page, the $12 credit value will be applied as a promo code. Click Continue to confirm the order.
   

   Important:

   • If the domain’s price is $12 or less, the discount will cover the full cost, making your domain free.

   • If the domain costs more than $12 (e.g., $20), the remaining balance will be your responsibility. For instance, with a $20 domain, you’ll only pay $8 after the $12 credit is applied.

   • The $12 credit is applied to your initial domain purchase through IONOS, potentially covering the first year’s cost depending on the domain price and any ongoing promotions. However, future billing amounts for domain renewals may differ and are subject to IONOS’s standard recurring pricing. We recommend reviewing IONOS’s renewal pricing and terms to understand the long-term costs associated with your domain registration.

8. Enter the billing information and click Continue to proceed to the next step.

9. Please review the order details and terms and conditions on the payment page. Accept the necessary terms and conditions to complete the order by selecting a payment method (Credit Card, Apple Pay, PayPal, etc.).

10. Once you have completed the checkout, click Finish to complete the steps. Then, check your email inbox to confirm your email address for IONOS account verification.

11. Upon clicking the Finish button, you will be redirected to the ClickFunenls domain page, where it will confirm that the domain has been successfully added.

12. Navigate to the DNS section and click Show DNS Table.

13. Click Check Connection to verify the DNS records with the IONOS domain.

    Note:

    Occasionally, the verification of DNS records may require some time. If the records do not verify after clicking Check Connection, please allow 10 to 20 minutes before clicking Check Connection again to verify the records. Once verified, the records status will display with a green checkmark.

14. Once the domain DNS records have been verified, ClickFunnels will automatically initiate the process of adding the SSL certificate to the domain. The domain's status will change to “Securing.” At this stage, no further action is required on your part; please allow a few moments for the SSL propagation to complete.

    Note:

    Occasionally, It may take up to 48 hours for the securing process to finish.

15. Once the SSL is propagated with the domain, the domain status will change to “Connected.” You may now utilize this domain for the Site and Blog app or Funnels.
    

Congratulations! You now own a new domain that you can use with your ClickFunnels account.
