When integrating an SMTP provider with ClickFunnels, adding the ClickFunnels-provided webhook URL is essential for tracking important email events such as opens, clicks, and bounces. Requirements

  1. A verified domain in ClickFunnels.
  2. Access to your SMTP provider’s account (SendGrid, Mailgun, etc.).
  3. Webhook URL from ClickFunnels (this can be found during the SMTP setup in ClickFunnels).

Adding ClickFunnels Webhook URL in SendGrid

To track email events in SendGrid, you need to set up a webhook URL. Follow these steps:

  1. In your SendGrid account, go to the Settings menu and select Mail Settings.
  2. Under Webhook Settings, click on Event Webhooks.

  3. Click the Create New Webhook button to set up a new webhook.
  4. In the webhook settings, fill out the following details:
    • Friendly Name: Enter a name for this webhook (e.g., “CF - Your Workspace Name”).
    • Post URL: Paste the Webhook URL provided by ClickFunnels. You can find this URL in ClickFunnels when adding your SMTP settings.
    • Actions to be Posted: Check the boxes for the events you want to track. These typically include Opened, Clicked, Unsubscribed, Bounced, and Delivered. You may select all events instead of selecting particular events.

  5. After filling in the details and selecting the events, click the Save button to activate the webhook.

Adding ClickFunnels Webhook URL in Mailgun

Mailgun allows you to add a Webhook URL for each event type. This means that if you want to track multiple events such as opens, clicks, and unsubscribes, you will need to add the webhook URL separately for each event type. Follow these steps:

  1. In your Mailgun account, navigate to the Send » Sending menu and select Webhooks from the options.
  2. Click the Add Webhook button on the right-hand side.

  3. In the New Webhook window, select the Event Type (e.g., Delivered Messages, Opens, Clicked).
  4. Paste the Webhook URL provided by ClickFunnels in the URL field.
  5. Click Create Webhook to save the webhook.

  6. Repeat the process for each event type you want to track, such as Opens, Clicks, Unsubscribed, Delivered etc.
